On October 8, the Administrative Committee of Dongqian Lake Holiday Resort signed an agreement of cooperation with Swiss Luzern Tourist Administration. Xu Mingfu, Vice Mayor of Ningbo, attended the signing ceremony.
The area of the Luzern Lake is not only the birthplace of 1.Swiss Confederation but also the well-known holiday resort. It is honored as one of the "top 25 tourist destinations of the world", and one of "the Most Favored Lakes for Tourists in Europe". In the first China Lake Recreation Festival held last year, authorities of Luzern Lake and Dongqian Lake released "Dongqianhu Manifesto". In May this year, in the Tengtou Pavilion in the World Expo, the two parties made exchanges about the development of lakes, and agreed to work together to set up an international lake recreation alliance.
According to the agreement, the two parties will follow the principle of "cooperation and win-win", promote international exchanges in lake recreation, and make in-depth cooperation in environment protection, landscape planning, urban development, the tourist industry, information service and management. The two parties will initiate to set up an international lake recreation alliance and invite more lakes to be members of the alliance.
